8N/9DLadakhLadakh is a high-altitude desert between the Karakoram and the Himalaya, with Leh at about 3,500 m. Trips combine monasteries and palaces around Leh with drives over some of the world's highest motorable passes.
Nubra Valley has sand dunes and double-humped Bactrian camels at Hunder, while Pangong Tso is a long lake that changes colour through the day. The first day is always kept for rest so your body can adjust to the altitude.
Ladakh's main town, with Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa and a busy main bazaar. Your base for the first and last nights, and the place to acclimatise.

Yes, permits and environment fees are required for these areas. We arrange them for you with your ID details before the trip.
Flights to Leh run all year, but Pangong and Nubra roads can be difficult and many hotels close. We recommend May to September for a first trip.
