About Kutch
Kutch is India's largest district, on the border of Gujarat. Its best-known sight is the White Rann, a vast salt desert that glows white after the monsoon and is lit up by the full moon. During the Rann Utsav season a tent city near Dhordo hosts cultural programmes, food and desert activities.
Bhuj is the gateway, with royal palaces and the Smritivan memorial. Around it are craft villages known for Rogan art, embroidery and bell-making, the Black Hill of Kala Dungar, the 5,000-year-old Indus city of Dholavira, and the beach and palace at Mandvi.
